Cooperation between the Institute of Law Studies, the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Zielona Góra and Kenyatta University School of Law

Within the confines of scientific cooperation based on the agreement between the University of Zielona Góra and Kenyatta University in Nairobi, the authorities of the Institute of Law Studies and the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Zielona Góra paid a visit to Kenyatta University. The delegation consisting of the Director of the Institute of Law Studies of the University of Zielona Góra, Andrzej Bisztyga, Ph.D., honoris causa, the Professor of the University of Zielona Góra, the Deputy Director of the Institute of Law Studies of the University of Zielona Góra for Science, Martyna Łaszewska-Hellriegel, Ph.D., the Professor of the University of Zielona Góra and the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration, Tadeusz Stanisławski, Ph.D., was admitted by Professor Bernard Kivunge, the Registrar, Academics of Kenyatta University. During the conversations, Professor Andrzej Bisztyga and Professor Martyna Łaszewska-Hellriegel proposed some approaches for the development of the existing forms of cooperation. Professor M. Łaszewska - Hellriegel presented a project of launching English-language studies in the field of administration, which Kenyan citizens could attend, whereas Professor Andrzej Bisztyga proposed joint, problem-oriented publications in the field of law studies as well as the usage of the institution of a visiting professor. Along with Professor Benard Kivunge, Jackline Nyerere, Ph.D., the Head of the Centre for International Programmes and Collaborations at Kenyatta University, and Professor Grace Bunyi, Registrar, Corporate Affairs at Kenyatta University attended the meeting to represent Kenya. The visit was held on 13-17 November 2023. During the visit, the attendees could familiarise themselves with the Kenyatta University infrastructure. Professor Tomasz Milej, the Chairperson of the Department of Public Law at KU Law School supported the organisation of the visit. He works with the Institute of Law Studies of the University of Zielona Góra as well as with the Discourse of Law and Administration journal published by the Institute. Mr Mirosław Gojdź, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Nairobi, also made a commendable declaration of support for the development of the cooperation between the Institute of Law Studies and the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Zielona Góra and Kenyatta University. Mrs Joanna Szymańska, the Head of the Political and Economic Department and Mrs Dominika Mosek, the Consul of the Republic of Poland, also attended the meeting held in the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Nairobi.
